Pressure Pipe & Fittings
Proven in tough North American climates for more than 25 years, IPEX AWWA municipal pressure pipe & fittings are manufactured from custom engineered PVC compounds to deliver superior strength and corrosion resistance, along with the ability to flex without damage – even under high traffic loads and in deep burial applications.
The result is a municipal pressure pipe system that easily absorbs the underground shear and flexure stresses from soil movement that can place traditional rigid pipe at risk. In applications from potable water distribution to irrigation systems to sewer forcemains, IPEX AWWA PVC pressure pipe offers low break rates and long-term performance unmatched by any other pipe material.
- Less maintenance, longer service life
Made of noncorroding polyvinylchloride (PVC), IPEX AWWA pressure pipe and fittings will not rust or corrode from chemically aggressive soils or galvanic action. Sacrificial anodes and protective coatings, common with metal pipe, are not required.
- High flow capacity, improved water quality
Smooth interior walls (Hazen-Williams C=150) offer higher flow capacities leading to substantial savings from reduced pumping costs over the life of the system. Low turbulence prevents scaling from encrustants such as calcium in hard water and keeps the line clean longer.
- Bottle-tight joints, fast easy installation
The patented IPEX lock-ring gasket design are proven to withstand many times the pressure class of the pipe, while providing for fast, easy installation. Joints meet ASTM D3139 requirements and are engineered to maintain vacuum pressures of -75 kPa (-11 psi) or 22" of mercury.
- Removable gasket options
IPEX PVC pressure pipe is shipped with standard gaskets for use in typical CIOD watermain applications. However, the gasket’s unique removable design allows oil-resistant nitrile gaskets to be easily field installed, for applications where fittings must be buried in soil containing hydrocarbon contamination. Transition gaskets are also available for use with IPS pipe.
- Easy to Handle
Strong and lightweight, IPEX AWWA pipe requires less effort to move and install than conventional cast-iron pipe. Cutting and beveling can be done easily using standard tools onsite.
- Applications flexibility
IPEX CIOD pressure pipe is compatible with auxiliary equipment such as cast-iron restraints, tapping saddles, stops, mechanical-joint and slip-joint fittings. A full range of nominal pressures are available for use in municipal potable water distribution systems, fire lines and other pressure applications.
Used in combination with our unique Q-Line™ PE-Al-PE composite and Gold Stripe polyethylene water service tubing, IPEX AWWA pressure pipe and fittings offer municipalities the capability to construct all of their vital water and sewer systems from non-corroding piping materials.
