Benefits
Unsurpassed thermal comfort IPEX WarmRite Floor® gently warms the surfaces of objects, as well as the air itself. Heat loss from occupants is reduced. In addition, the higher temperature near the floor keeps feet warm, while the slightly lower temperature towards the ceiling provides greater comfort at head level. In fact, rooms are generally comfortable at a 3ºF to 5ºF (2ºC to 3ºC) lower than conventional settings.
Convenience With no dry, hot-air drafts to cause fluctuations in humidity and temperature, the system can be adjusted precisely as desired - virtually set it, and forget it. And there are no restrictions on room design or furniture placement.
Aesthetically beautiful No unsightly heat emitters, such as radiators or air vents
Quiet A properly designed radiant system generates no noise from the operation of forced-air fans or the sound of rushing air. The only sound is from the operation of the gas or oil burner on the boiler.
Clean In contrast to forced-air systems, no dust, odors or germs are distributed throughout the building. With hydronic radiant heating, only 5% of the heat transfer is by convection. Room air circulation is extremely gentle, and does not aggravate allergy or asthma symptoms.
Improved air quality IPEX WarmRite Floor® has been approved for use in the American Lung Association Health House Project. There's no ductwork where particulates can hide. And warm floors eliminate the need for carpets which can hold dust and allergens.
Extremely energy efficient Because hydronic radiant heating creates less air temperature stratification, comfort is sustained at lower temperatures. In addition, rooms are not pressurized as with forced-air systems, so air/heat leakage is reduced. Even by conservative estimates, energy savings are from 10% to 20%. Some projects have shown savings as high as 50% over traditional heating technologies.
Long-term durability Corrosion, impact, crush and pressure resistant, the XPA® composite tubing used in WarmRite Floor® radiant heating systems is virtually indestructible. In fact, in-slab floor installations are as durable as the slab itself.
Higher property value Installed during new construction or retrofitted in older buildings, hydronic radiant heating is seen as a luxury feature. And because there are no air ducts or vent, ceilings can often be made higher.
